PROJECT OVERVIEW
Mitsubishi City-Multi System
Everett , WA
Commercial, 7000ft2
Objective
The objective of this project was to replace the aging boiler system at St Mary Magdalen School with an efficient Mitsubishi City Multi heat pump system. The aim was to achieve substantial energy savings, enhance overall comfort within the school facilities, and support a more sustainable energy future.

Challenges
- Compatibility Issues: The existing infrastructure was tailored for a boiler system, necessitating extensive modifications to accommodate the new heat pump technology.
- Limited Downtime: With regular school activities, there was a critical need to manage the installation process without causing significant disruptions.
- Upfront Costs: There was initial concern over investment costs, particularly regarding how the new system would compare financially with the existing boiler.
Solutions
- Detailed Assessment and Planning: Conducted a comprehensive analysis of the school’s heating and cooling needs, allowing for a tailored installation plan that addressed potential compatibility issues.
- Staged Installation Approach: Developed a phased installation plan that allowed for the continued operation of school activities, minimizing disruptions while the new system was put into place.
- Cost Analysis and Education: Provided the school leadership with detailed financial projections and benefits analysis, showcasing the long-term savings and operational efficiencies of the Mitsubishi system over the previous boiler setup.
Results
- Significant Energy Savings: In the first month after installation, St Mary Magdalen School reported a remarkable reduction of $2000 in their energy bills.
- Enhanced Comfort Levels: Feedback from school indicated improved comfort throughout the facilities, with more consistent heating and cooling performance.
- Sustainable Energy Use: The heat pump system greatly enhanced energy efficiency, positioning the school as a proactive contributor to environmental sustainability while also ensuring reduced operational costs going forward.
